A project for a client in Poole, Dorset has been featured in a Channel 4 series Ugly House to Lovely House as an ‘inspirational property’. George Clarke helps a couple with their project in Bournemouth which, coincidentally, looks very similar to the original home belonging to my clients. George shows them around my project to give them some ideas […]
Groundworks are now underway for a new home set in an amazing position with the South Downs National Park. The site on Alfriston Road, Seaford is dominated by agricultural buildings owned by the National Trust. A dilapidated, domestic garage stood on the site and the owners have been trying to gain permission for a dwelling for a number […]
Two new buildings under construction at Rathfinny Wine Estate are progressing well and are on target for completion early 2018. The two buildings have a total of 2400 sq metres of floor area and will provide state of the art processing facilities and ‘ageing’ storage for 4 million bottles of sparkling wine. Dark grey insulated […]
The owners of this interesting single storey property wanted to open up the rear of their home to make better use of the terrace and adjacent swimming pool. I have created a scheme which opens up the kitchen, dining and living areas to provide an amazing open plan space. With large sliding glazed doors leading to the […]
The new owners of Mannings Heath Golf Club commissioned me to design a new ‘Halfway House’ to replace two tired old structures which have served the club for many years. The Halfway House is situated close to the 10th tee to provide golfers with refreshments and a welcome break halfway through their round. This building […]
Rathfinny Wine Estate’s aim to become the UK’s largest producer of ‘English Sparkling Wine’ is progressing well and is moving on to the next phase of buildings to support that aim. Following the great success of the main winery building I was delighted to be asked to provide the design for two new buildings totalling 5300sqm. The new […]
This large family house near Tunbridge Wells was built in the 80s and was based on design originating from the US. Due to the nature of the topography, the building appears to be single storey from the front and conceals the full size of the accommodation until you enter the door! The existing design is showing its […]
A beautiful location deserves a beautiful house! My client recently bought this ordinary looking house in Poole, Dorset with a view to enlarge and improve. The clients ideally wanted another floor added but this particular location had a fairly challenging planning history. I presented my design concept at a pre-application consultation with the planning officer […]
I am very proud to announce the recently completed ‘state of the art’ winery for Rathfinny Wine Estate has been shortlisted for the prestigious 2015 RIBA Awards. Set within the beautiful Sussex Downs, the 1700 sq m building was the first major project to gain planning consent in the South Downs National Park.
Set in the beautiful South Downs National Park this proposed new dwelling has now been given planning consent. The site on Alfriston Road, Seaford is dominated by agricultural buildings owned by the National Trust. A dilapidated, domestic garage current stands on the site which feels out of place with the adjacent buildings. The proposed new two […]
Set in a Green belt area within Surrey the owners of this property plan to remodel the old lodge building to accommodate their family and build a new annexe on the footprint of the garage block to provide accommodation for a family member. I am delighted to report this scheme with the support of Parker […]

Featured as the cover story in Real Homes magazine, the article covers both phases of the improvements to this lovely mid terrace Victorian home in Wandsworth. I designed a rear extension with a steel and glass rear elevation followed by a loft conversion maximising all available space.
