Construction underway in National Park

Groundworks are now underway for a new home set in an amazing position with the South Downs National Park. The site on Alfriston Road, Seaford is dominated by agricultural buildings owned by the National Trust. A dilapidated, domestic garage stood on the site and the owners have been trying to gain permission for a dwelling for a number of years without success. After the last scheme failed to gain consent at appeal, I was approached to design a scheme that would fulfil the needs of the owners and, meet the demanding conditions of the SDNPA and fortunately my scheme gained consent..The new two bedroom home will be partially set into the ground in order to provide good sized accommodation yet keep the building ridge height lower than the adjacent barn. External materials have been chosen to reflect the agricultural nature of the adjacent buildings.
